About Dr. Shayna Zimmerman

Dr. Shayne Zimmerman has been a veterinarian in the Triangle area since graduating from NC State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. She completed training for certification in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine at Chi University in 2010. She is also trained in TCVM Food Therapy and Herbal Medicine. She takes into account both Western and Eastern approaches to patient assessment, diagnostics, and treatment. The addition of Eastern treatment modalities has provided her clients with more options for managing chronic care situations and prolonging the quality of life for her older patients. She enjoys sifting through complicated medicine cases and looking for new solutions. She would be happy to talk with you about how alternative approaches might complement the care your pet has been receiving.

Dr. Z is originally from the Chicago area and grew up in Williamsburg, Virginia. She and her family live in Holly Springs with a petite Pit Bull, a 3-legged Yorkie, and a feisty Chihuahua; 2 tuxedo cats and a bossy tabby; an exuberant African Grey parrot and a green-cheeked parakeet. When she’s not at Shiloh Animal Hospital, you can usually find her at the gym, in the garden, or reading a good book.

What Our Clients Are Saying

We absolutely love Shiloh. Our former vet moved out to state. We were looking for a holistic option after we had spent a lot of time, money, and tears trying to find an answer to our dog Lucas GI issues. We had tried everything conventional. We met with Dr. Zimmerman and she recommended a fresh food diet. When we switched our dog to a raw diet everything changed and is off all medication and feeling great. We will be forever thankful and love having a practitioner, and a practice, that truly cares about pet parents wishes for treatment and can offer safer, more holistic options. My husband, me, and Lucas are so grateful!

Amazing vets and staff. They have always taken great care of my pets and thoroughly explained everything to us. Dr. Zimmerman is great, knowledgeable and provides alternative therapy. The vet techs are friendly and treat my animals well. Front desk staff are sweet. Office is clean. If my animal is freaked out they encourage me to help soothe my animal. Highly recommend
